Jonathan Cash Racing

Bio

Jonathan Cash started his racing career with Go-Karts at the young age of five. Through the years, Cash competed in State and National Series races under the World Karting Assocation (WKA), capturing over 200 wins at various tracks. At the age of 16, Jonathan, began working with widely known P&P Speed Shop, building and repairing engines and maintenance to bodywork and chassis. In 1999 the WKA hosted a Pro Kart event at Concord Raceway, bringing in over 100 Go-Kart competitors for 200 laps. To win, $2000 was awarded, but Cash brough home a record setting $4800 for the largest payout in Karting history. He continued to break records by being the first driver to capture a win from the pole position. The wins added up in the end by giving Jonathan Cash the WKA Asphalt Chammpionship in North Carolina for 1999.

After graduating High School in 1999, Cash attended Catawba Community College in Hickory, North Carolina where he received his certificaiton in the Motorsports Technology Program. He gained the knowledge to build a racecar, set-up the chasis and maintain a race team.

With this gained knowledge, Jonathan ventured into the world of NASCAR in March of 2000. Cash made his first step of Stock Car Racing in the Limited Sportsman Division at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, North Carolina. Cash Motorsports had an outstanding rookie season in Limited Sportsman with 2 wins, 6 top fives and 10 top ten finishes. The remarkable take-off to the teams first season clinched a sixth place finish in points among twenty-six other drivers.

2001 was another great year for the team. Again, Cash grabbed the checkered flag twice not to mention, 13 top fives and 17 top tens. With only eight points separating the leader and him. Cash Motorsports finished runner-up in the Orange County Speedway's Limited Sportsman Division in points.

With each passing year, Cash gained more experience behind the wheel of a stock car and saw a championship getting closer and closer. Testing his skills, Jonathan traveled his black #07 Pontiac to Virginia's South Boston Speedway, to compete again in the Limited Sportsman Division in 2002. The more laps Cash got under his belt, the better he ran. The team brought home the 1st place trophy four times, not to mention 16 top fives and 17 top tens in eighteen racing events. Cash ended his 2002 season by tying for the championship at South Boston Speedway.

Once again, Cash Motorsports ran the #07 Pontiac at South Boston Speedway. Altough Cash ventured to Orange County on off dates, he was able to sweep up 9 wins, 16 top fives and 18 top tens. But 2003 topped them all when Jonathan brought home his first NASCAR Limited Sportsman Division Championship, also placing sixth in the NASCAR Atlantic Regional Standing, where he competed against nine other tracks.

For 2004, Jonathan Cash Motorsports was aiming for a back to back championship in the Limited Sportsman Division at South Boston Speedway, but ended up 2nd only 18 point's behind the leader. Jonathan managed to average a CPI score of .8631, which was the highest score for the Limited Division, in the nation, but because Cash didn't win the track title he was not eligible for the Regional and National titles.

In 2005, Jonathan Cash Motorsports wanted a new challenge and raced in the Late Model Division at South Boston Speedway. Jonathan ended the season there finishing 4th in points out of 30 competitor's. Jonathan also won the Rookie of the Year and Most Popular Driver awards for the 2005 season.

For 2006, Jonathan Cash Motorsports is aiming for a Late Model Championship at South Boston Speedway. With the quality of the competition at South Boston it will be a challenge but one that Jonathan Cash Motorsports is looking forward to.
